Biosis employs one of the largest and most experienced ecology teams in Australia, with over 60 specialist zoologists and botanists working throughout regional and urban centres in Victoria and New South Wales on environmental impact assessments. Biosis offices are located in Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat, Albury, Wangaratta, Wollongong (Port Kembla), Sydney, Penrith, Central Coast, Hunter, Newcastle and Hobart.
Biosis service large-scale development projects that require multi-disciplinary project teams including zoologists, botanists, heritage specialists, environmental planners and GIS spatial services staff. We also employ technical specialists in microbat detection, offshore and onshore wind farm assessments, bio-logging, bird and bat surveys, bird collision risk modelling, vegetation management, and suitable flora and fauna offset site identification. As part of the Australia-wide APEM group of companies, Biosis also has access to ecology specialists across all states and territories.
Our ecology teams deliver impact assessments for local and state significant developments, as well as a key provider of environmental and heritage services for the wind and solar energy industries. We work with clients on impact assessment and natural resource management for a variety of industries including renewable energy, residential and industrial development, roads and transport, resource development, recreational infrastructure, land and water management, telecommunications and utility services.
In Victoria, our botanists hold Vegetation Quality Assessment (VQA) method competency checks and in NSW we have Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) accredited assessors. Our teams are supported by Senior, Principal and Technical Director level consultants.
