Aged Care Facility extension at Furlong Road, St Albans (EPBC/8257)

The following notice is published pursuant to Section 95B(4) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).

Fronditha Care proposes to extend its aged care facility at Furlong Road, St Albans, Victoria. Currently, the land contains an aged care facility that accommodates 60 beds and Fronditha Care hold a license to accommodate 90 beds on the land.

The proposed action is a controlled action under the EPBC Act. The controlling provisions are listed threatened species and communities (Sections 18 and 18A) and the Commonwealth Department of the Environment and Energy (DoEE) advised that the project will be assessed through preliminary documentation.

The preliminary documentation for the proposed commercial development was published for public comment on 28 August 2019 pursuant to Section 95A(3) of the EPBC Act and no comments were received.

The final preliminary documentation is now available for viewing for a period of 10 business days from Thursday 19 September to Thursday 3 October 2019 inclusive, at the following locations:

  • Brimbank City Council offices, 301 Hampshire Road, Sunshine VIC 3020
  • Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne VIC 3002
  • Commonwealth Department of the Environment and Energy, email epbc.referrals@environment.gov.au to arrange a time for viewing at the Department in Canberra, ACT
