Biosis would like to congratulate our client, Whittlesea City Council, for receiving the Institute of Public Works Victoria Engineering Australasia – Engineering Excellence Award for Sustainability for the Peter Hopper Lake Revitalisation Project. Biosis is proud to have provided its expertise on the project’s ecology and environmental planning needs and is so pleased about this outcome.

A key part of any project is undertaking a Flora and Fauna Assessment. In doing so, Biosis provided the initial ecological advice, assisting Whittlesea City Council in dealing with the biodiversity of Peter Hopper Lake. Biosis continued to assist Whittlesea City Council in all aspects of biodiversity management throughout the course of the project, including the supply of detailed flora and fauna management plans and regular site visits to help contractors and project managers work safely alongside local wildlife, while ensuring the animals that call Peter Hopper Lake home were in the best hands possible.

As a result of the combined efforts of all involved, the Peter Hopper Lake has vastly improved in its water quality, the quality of habitat and the aesthetic value of this much-loved part of the community.
