Biosis ecologists are based in Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat, Albury-Wodonga region and Wangaratta, and are specialists in native vegetation assessments, habitat hectare assessments (otherwise known as Vegetation Quality Assessments), offset calculation and ecological reporting.
If you’re submitting a planning permit application for native vegetation removal in the Detailed Assessment Pathway, you will need to engage an ecologist to undertake a site assessment. The Detailed Assessment Pathway is always triggered when you are removing 0.5 hectares or more of native vegetation, but in some instances can also be triggered when you are removing native vegetation from areas of higher ecological value.
Note: You may not need to engage us! Check the Native Vegetation Removal Tool
Biosis ecologists are accredited native vegetation assessors and can provide you with a Native Vegetation Removal Report and undertake any other assessments you will need to meet your planning permit application requirements under Clause 52.17 of all Victorian Planning Schemes.
