We’re looking for an experience Botanist to join our team in Albury for a full time 12-month contract position, with the opportunity to extend for the right candidate.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in field botany and be capable of providing environmental advice and guidance to our clients.
Your responsibilities will include designing, coordinating, and undertaking field surveys and projects, preparation of proposals and technical reports, and undertaking project management and client liaison responsibilities.
Additionally, with the support of the business, you will cultivate your industry presence by attending networking and professional development events.
This role is an integral member of the ecology team in Victoria, and is a key contributor to existing and future projects throughout Victoria and New South Wales, and a driver for the development of our ecological capabilities in the region.

Selection criteria
Please apply via our SWAG job board. To apply you will need to submit a CV and cover letter addressing the following required skills and attributes:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in ecology and or botany
- A minimum of three years’ botanical experience, preferably in consultancy or the public sector
- Broad plant identification skills, with experience in Victoria
- Strong report writing and proposal writing skills
- Working knowledge of Commonwealth and state legislation with regard to ecology
- Experience with field survey design and implementation
- Experience in sales, client relationship management and business development including proposal preparation, client liaison and consultation
- Experience with project management, including budgets
- Competency with computer programs and software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or similar software packages
- A current manual driver’s license
- Australian citizenship, or a current work permit (required)
