Job opportunity: Experienced Heritage Consultant

We have an excellent opportunity for an Experienced Heritage Consultant in our Albury office in either a part time or full time basis.

As a key member of our team, you will have the chance to contribute your expertise to a variety of exciting projects. Your primary focus will be working on Aboriginal archaeology, particularly the development of Aboriginal Due Diligence Assessments, Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessments and Aboriginal archaeological reports.

The successful candidate will have experience in undertaking archaeological survey, test, and salvage excavations. Previous consulting experience will be highly regarded, and you will need to be comfortable working independently,

To excel in this role you will need to be able to adapt to diverse projects and locations as you will be working on multiple assignments with varying demands. Flexibility and a willingness to travel are also essential attributes in this position .

A valid driver’s license and Australian work rights are required for this role.

To apply you will need to submit a CV and cover letter addressing the following required skills and attributes:

 

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Archaeology (Honours level or equivalent preferred).
  • A minimum of two years’ of experience in consulting with a focus on Aboriginal cultural heritage.
  • Project management skills, including managing small budgets and delivery within set timeframes.
  • Sound proposal and report writing skills.
  • Understanding of Commonwealth and NSW legislation and guidelines.
  • Willingness to undertake periods of fieldwork in both urban and remote locations.
