Beyond our professional services, we are proud to support initiatives that foster inclusion, celebrate culture, advance scientific knowledge, and strengthen our industry. Through our community investment program, we partner with organisations, events, and individuals who are making a positive impact on future generations.
Biosis values Traditional Owners of the land where our teams work. We support initiatives that celebrate Aboriginal culture, promote reconciliation, and foster inclusion through partnerships.

Art Investment
As heritage archaeologists, we recognise that our business sits between the needs of industry and the importance of preserving cultural heritage for Traditional Owners and land councils, and that we must honour their wishes where possible. Each year we purchase a piece of artwork which celebrates the Countries where we work. In 2025, Biosis purchased Of Earth III by Lauren Freestone, honouring Awabakal Country (Newcastle). Combined Countries Rugby League Club
Combined Countries is a rugby league club with women’s, men’s, and kids’ teams from the Campbelltown and Liverpool regions of NSW. Biosis is proud to continue supporting this club to compete in the Koorie and Blacktown Knockout competitions fostering community and strengthening cultural connection through sport.
At Biosis, we support the essential role that knowledge-sharing plays in the fields of environmental science, environmental planning, and heritage advisory services.
We encourage our staff to learn from their peers, and to respect the significant role that representative bodies play in strengthening our long-term vision to protect culture, heritage and the environment. This is why we sponsor a range of conferences and events run by our representative organisations throughout the year.

Conference Sponsorship
Biosis strongly believes in investing in future graduates and has recently partnered with the UNSW Biological Sciences Society (BIOSOC), the Victorian Archaeology Colloquium and the Australasian Society for Historical Archaeology conference. Through these conference sponsorships, we support the career development of staff and students of Aboriginal and historical heritage, zoology, botany, marine biology, and ecology through events, presentations, and other opportunities.

Daniel Gilmore Wildlife Ecology Scholarship
The Daniel Gilmore Scholarship supports Honours students studying wildlife ecology. The scholarship assists students to help fund their living costs while contributing to important research which helps Australian threatened species. To read more about the Dan Gilmore scholarship click here.
As a key advisor on environmental planning and assessments, heritage assessments, and archaeology, we invest in programs which help the broader development industry better understand these essential services. We support early-career professionals, sponsor key industry conferences and are committed to sharing knowledge across the wider development industry to foster innovation with partner organisations.

Women in Planning and Renewables
Biosis is a Silver Sponsor of the Dr Helen Proudfoot Women in Planning Award. The award recognises women’s contribution to planning outcomes, policy, and practice. Dr Helen Proudfoot demonstrated a tireless determination to enhance planning policy and practice through a commitment to understanding and celebrating ‘place’ and working across disciplines to develop integrated and place-based plans for Metropolitan Sydney. In March 2025, Esra Calim was presented with this award as a female planner who has made an outstanding contribution to planning in NSW this year.
Victorian Planning and Environmental Law Association
Biosis has been a long-term supporter and financial sponsor of the programs provided by the Victorian Planning & Environmental Law Association. Often invited to speak at their regional workshops and seminars, Biosis senior environmental planners, heritage advisors and emerging professionals are always keen to share their knowledge and strengthen the capacity of planners and developers in the areas of environmental and heritage planning.
