Mitchell Deaves BUrbDev (Urb&RegPlan)
Environmental Planning Coordinator

With a background in planning, property development and project management, Mitch has worked across local government, client-side and consultancy roles in Australia (Victoria and Queensland) and the United Kingdom.

Prior to joining Biosis, Mitch was responsible for preparing and managing complex urban development and infrastructure strategies and projects. Career highlights include the delivery of two major growth area projects – one in South East Queensland and the other in the western growth corridor of Melbourne. Both projects sat within ecologically sensitive landscapes, requiring Mitch to navigate state and Commonwealth environmental assessment and approval processes.

At Biosis, Mitch coordinates the environmental planning team and manages major projects that typically involve complex environmental approvals. He has a thorough understanding of key planning and environmental legislation, including the Planning and Environment Act 1987, Environment Effects Act 1978 and Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Mitch has a keen interest in applying his technical expertise with his project management skills to deliver environmental assessments and approvals. Mitch is adept at coordinating large multi-disciplinary teams, particularly the ecology, cultural heritage and environmental planning services Biosis provides.

You will frequently see Mitch at PIA, VPELA and UDIA events as he keeps up to date with industry news and maintains client relationships.

Mitch is an enthusiastic and personable professional who always seeks to provide practical advice and solutions to progress projects from inception through to completion.
