Matt Looby

Matt has 15 years of diverse experience in government, private sector and community-based natural resource management and environmental planning in Victoria. He started his career in 1997 with a strong grounding in land and fire management and went on to gain a research Masters Degree from the University of Melbourne. Matt worked in ecological consulting between 2001 and 2006 and spent five years with the Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environment from 2007 to 2012. Matt joined Biosis in January 2013 at our Wangaratta office.

Matt has led various ecological impact assessment projects as a consultant and has acted in a regulatory capacity with government giving him a wide breadth of knowledge and experience with environmental issues across a range of industries. Matt has also worked closely with several Victorian alpine resorts in government and in a consulting capacity since 2007. To highlight the diversity of his skills, he has also implemented conservation incentive programs with farmers and public land managers.

Matt brings professionalism, strong analytical skills and a talent for problem-solving to his work. His experience in ecology, practical land management and environmental law provides a unique skill set applicable to many ecological and land use planning projects.
