Accounts Receivable Assistant, Melbourne – part time 12 month contract.

Biosis is looking to appoint a reliable Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our Head Office team in Melbourne. This assistant level position will be working closely with a multi-disciplined team of environmental consultancy professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral member of the finance team, assisting with the accounts receivable function of the business.

Biosis employs a highly experienced multi-disciplinary team of aquatic ecologists, archaeologists, botanists, zoologists, environmental planners and GIS operators.  We have offices in Albury, Ballarat, Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, Wangaratta, Western Sydney and Wollongong.

Our Melbourne office is located in Port Melbourne, close to the CBD and easily accessible by public transport.  We are a very short walk from the North Port tram stop. This central location provides access to all the services of Melbourne without the hassle of traffic and parking.

The Accounts Receivable Assistant is a key support role to the Biosis consulting and management teams, reporting to the Financial Controller. The main duties of the Accounts Receivable Assistant include client record maintenance in the APS database, processing invoicing and statements, bank reconciliations and processing disbursements, and various administration duties including data entry, filing and reporting as required.

Selection criteria

  • Appropriate certificate III/IV qualifications in accounting or bookkeeping
  • Demonstrated 1+ years’ of accounts receivable experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal & negotiation skills
  • Understanding of bank reconciliation and invoicing
  • Understanding of MS Excel functions (intermediate level)
  • Competency with computer programs and software such as MS word, outlook, and/or similar software packages
  • Experience in APS (Desirable but not essential)

This is a 12 month contract position with the potential to become permanent. This opportunity is best suited to individuals that have basic accounts experience and can bring stability and expertise to the role.
