Communications and Events Coordinator.

About the role

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Communications and Events Coordinator with a passion for social media and content curation to join our team in our Port Melbourne or Sydney office on a part-time, 10-month parental leave backfill contract. Reporting to one of our Technical Directors, and supported by the Client Relationship Manager and Business Support Coordinator, this is a unique role that works alongside many business areas in a collaborative fashion, but with a large amount of daily autonomy to ‘get things done’.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop and execute digital marketing campaigns, including online advertising, website, eDM and social media
  • Adhere to digital marketing best practices and standards within Biosis
  • Curate and schedule social media content for posts and campaigns. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • In addition to assisting with the launch of a new website, continually monitor and improve the usability, content and conversion points of said website to support company growth objectives
  • Develop, manage and design layouts of communications such as presentations, newsletters, event support materials, brochures, staff bios, and other ad hoc internal comms requests
  • Develop relevant, unique, entertaining and engaging content to drive client loyalty and engagement
  • Effectively manage external relationships (graphic designers, event venues, website developers etc.) fulfilling design briefs and meeting deadlines
  • In collaboration with internal stakeholders: organise and assist with the execution of conferencing events, sponsorships and association relationships, networking events, staff social events (including Christmas parties), technical seminars and management dinners.
  • Act as a ‘brand guardian’ ensuring consistency across all internal and external communications
  • Ensure ‘brand voice’ is consistent across all internal and external communications
  • Write compelling and interesting content to attract audiences and raise the company’s profile

Selection criteria

To be considered for this role, please forward your CV and cover letter which demonstrate these required skills and attributes:

  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing or similar
  • Minimum of 3 years of communications, marketing or events coordination experience
  • Experience and comfort in managing business social media pages including: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Experience with Mailchimp or similar
  • Experience with creating and editing website copy
  • Experience with Canva
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • A high level of competency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or similar software packages.
  • Australian citizenship/residency, or a valid work permit.
