Jane is the NSW Operations Manager and has over 13 years’ experience in ecology, having gained experience on various rail, road, defence, mining and power projects across metropolitan and regional NSW.

Jane has always been passionate about the natural environment and following the completion of her Bachelor degree in 1999, she has embarked on a range of ecological and botanical courses to ensure her technical abilities continue to grow.

Prior to her employment at Biosis, she began her career in 2000 working in local government and not-for-profit organisations before moving into consultancy, initially as a botanist and then as Team Leader Ecology for a large engineering company.

Jane currently leads the New South Wales team and specialises in ecological legislation and the associated assessment requirements for a range of clients. Technical skills include biophysical and condition based botanical assessments, environmental/species impact assessments, ecological constraints identification, botanical identification, vegetation community association and field mapping, rehabilitation resource auditing, targeted threatened species searches and assessments of significance, offsets, habitat suitability assessments as well as management and recovery planning. Jane has also participated in scientific advisory panels and consulted with communities, stakeholders, students and colleagues for ecologically robust project outcomes.

Jane is an accredited BioBanking Assessor (No. 0115) and has experience facilitating various conservation offset arrangements in NSW and with the application of BioBanking Assessment Methodology. Jane has good relationships with NSW and Commonwealth Government staff and has prepared a range of documents in consultation with authorities such as: EPBC Act referrals, Species Impact Statements, Voluntary Conservation Agreements, offset management plans and CMA Property Vegetation Plans.
