Rebecca Steer BEnvSc, BSc (Hons)
Resource Group Manager and Senior Botanist, Wollongong

Australian Institute of Management

Rebecca has enjoyed a varied career with Biosis since 2006, gaining experience initially in our Ballarat office as a consultant botanist.  She established our Wangaratta office in 2009, managing our local presence, and delivering a suite of projects across northern Victoria and southern NSW.

In early 2015 Rebecca became the manager of our Wollongong Resource Group, overseeing the delivery of a variety of projects throughout the Illawarra and south coast.  Rebecca ensures our team of consultants is equipped to deliver projects to Biosis’ high standards.

Rebecca excels in management of large and complex projects, and combines her ecological and legislative knowledge with an adaptive approach to ensure successful project delivery.  Clients commend her project organisation and communication skills.

Rebecca’s project management highlights include environmental assessments for the Goulburn Murray Water Connections Project (formerly the Northern Victorian Irrigation Renewal Project); various alpine resort developments in Mount Buller, Mount Hotham and Falls Creek; the Castlemaine Link pipeline and Harcourt modernisation; and managing the ecological and cultural heritage assessment program for Dart Mining’s Unicorn Project near Corryong.

Driven by a desire to manage the balance between client objectives, regulatory requirements and ecological outcomes, Rebecca has a reputation for being highly knowledgeable and practical, and for her commitment to helping her clients navigate their way through the planning approvals process.

Biosis clients depend on Rebecca’s expertise in delivering the right product on time and to budget.
