Ben joined Biosis in January 2014 at our Melbourne office. After completing a Masters Degree in Environment and Planning at RMIT, Ben commenced his career as a planner with Local Government in 2003 and moved to the State Government in 2007. Most recently he has worked in State Government with the Victorian Department of Transport, Planning and Local Infrastructure.

While Ben has acted in a regulatory capacity during his time in government, he has been involved in facilitating major government projects through the approvals process giving him a detailed understanding of and experience with land use planning and environmental issues across a range of sectors. Ben has worked with government agencies such as the Department of Environment and Primary Industries, Major Projects Victoria, Places Victoria, Department of State Development and Business Innovation and Regional Development Victoria, as well as Victoria’s alpine resorts, metropolitan and regional councils.

Ben’s career highlights include preparing the planning scheme amendments to enable the redevelopment of Melbourne Park and the development of the Rectangular Pitch Stadium. He also managed the approvals process for major projects in significant environments including the alpine resorts.

Ben brings strong leadership in project approvals particularly where environment, land use and development planning are involved. Ben is solution driven and focusses on how a project should proceed, rather than why it should not. Ben prides himself on his professionalism, and his unique skills and understanding of government process will assist our clients in ensuring that appropriate land use planning outcomes are achieved.
